After a busy preseason of training, recruitment and friendly game time, Bromsgrove Sporting’s U21s have kicked off their season with a bang.

The club’s brand new youth team boasts a talented squad of future Rouslers and has established a healthy environment for them to develop their game.

The U21s made a statement in their exhilarating first match together against Solihull Academy U21s, which saw a plethora of goals and eventually ended in a 4-7 win.

The team continued to train together and, as new signings came in, they began to learn their roles within the team and improve their abilities to operate as a collective unit.

Fast forward to Saturday and the team showed their skill against Bedworth United, with a commanding 1-3 win in a sensational start to the season.

Playing deep in opposition territory, Archie Thurston was quick to chip in a close range shot to snatch the lead 19 minutes in.

The team continued to threaten before Harvey ‘Hawkeye’ Reeve picked out a stunning cross to find George Gillon, who put them one more ahead with a picturesque header.

Bedworth regrouped and came back to get themselves on the scoreboard until Tyree Anglin’s closing goal put the game to bed.

After a slight fixture adjustment, the U21s are now preparing to face Diamond Academy U21s on Saturday 31st August in their first official league appearance at home.

They hope to see you there!
