Bromsgrove Sporting 1 (Matt 52′)
Banbury United 1 (Jackson 68′)
Despite enjoying the vast majority of the play, Bromsgrove Sporting were forced to settle for a point against Banbury United.
Jamille Matt headed the Rouslers into a 52nd minute lead before Oran Jackson equalised for the Puritans 16 minutes later.
The first meaningful chance of the game came 29 minutes in, as Sporting skipper Chris Hussey blazed over in the 29th minute after a nice exchange with defender Jak Hickman.
Hussey had a cross palmed off the goal line by Banbury keeper Jack Harding – moments later, Ben Nash narrowly missed the target for the visitors in the 36th minute, before Kieron Freeman had a goal disallowed two minutes later for a foul in the build-up.
The opening goal came via a sensational Hussey cross being headed home from close range by Matt, following up on the goal he scored against Kettering on Tuesday night.
Hayden Reeves almost doubled the lead moments later, but his header was just over the bar.
Somewhat against the run of play, Jackson curled the ball into the net from just inside the area after they had won a corner.
Hussey had a couple more chances to net, including a venomous effort from distance that narrowly flew over.
Reeves had a late shot blocked for Sporting, with the home side forced to settle for a point.
