Stourbridge 4 (Barnett 19' & 86', Freemantle 61' & 84')
Bromsgrove Sporting 2 (Meddows 32', Roberts 44')
Stourbridge ran out 4-2 winners over Bromsgrove Sporting on Easter Monday, in what was an important afternoon for both clubs.
For the Glassboys, this was the final match at their War Memorial Ground in its current guise, with health and safety issues rendering its future uncertain. As for the Rouslers, results elsewhere assured them of their Step Three status for next season.
In terms of the match itself, Tyrone Barnett and Ethan Freemantle both bagged braces for the home side, whilst goals from Jamie Meddows and Aaron Roberts gave the visitors the advantage going into the interval.
Meddows struck narrowly wide after 15 minutes and, four minutes later, Barnett gave Stourbridge the lead, as he put the ball into the net on the turn from inside the area.
Billy Shaw's 20 yards effort for Bromsgrove just missed the target in the 21st minute, whilst former Rousler Miro Pais had a shot blocked from a good position six minutes after.
Sporting skipper Reece King saw a strike somehow smothered by Stourbridge stopper Lewys Benjamin in the 31st minute; the equaliser was scored a minute later though, as good work from Shaw teed up Meddows, who booted the ball into the net with his left foot from a little over six yards out.
Sporting took the lead in the 44th minute, as a Shaw corner was headed home by Roberts - a Stourbridge player attempted to clear the ball on the line but he was unsuccessful in trying to do so.
Alex Bradley had a free kick from distance that went narrowly wide in the third minute of first half additional time.
The leveller came 61 minutes in, as Freemantle found the goal from close range and he almost doubled his tally for the afternoon 11 minutes later, but former Glassboys keeper Charlie Price kept out another strike of his.
Bradley had another free kick in the 76th minute, with this one clattering the underside of the crossbar before eventually being cleared. Sporting's Ash Carter had a header cleared off the line with seven minutes of normal time remaining and the game's fifth goal was scored just a minute later, as Freemantle was in the right place at the right time to convert into a virtually open goal.
The scoring was complete in the 86th minute, via a Barnett header that Price was unable to keep out despite making contact with it.
