Bromsgrove Sporting’s Football Development Officer Iain Queen has spoken about two players from our U21s side featuring in tonight’s squad against Pershore Town (7:45 KO).
“It is fantastic to see two of our development players involved in the matchday squad this evening. The new U21 team has made a great start to the season and is continuing to grow as a team, both on and off the pitch.
“There is a real togetherness within the young group and results of late have been very impressive. Credit must also go to the management team, who work tirelessly to put on high quality training sessions based around their match analysis and the video footage.
“We welcome Bo Morris and Archie Thurston into the squad this evening, and both players will gain valuable experience from being in and around the first team.
“Both have done some training sessions with the first team this season, and a big thank you goes to Scott Adey-Linforth for bringing these two players into the fold for tonight’s game.
“Bo (17) is a commanding centre half who is comfortable on the ball, whilst Archie (19) is a striker with excellent movement and an eye for goal. Archie is currently nursing an ankle injury, so will be monitored prior to kick off.
“It is also worth noting that if either of these players get any minutes this evening, then they will be cup tied for the U21s in their Worcestershire FA County Cup quarter final tie against Meadow Park in January.
“There will be added incentive for both players tonight, as Bo Morris spent some time training with Pershore Town pre-season, whilst Archie was with Pershore Town’s U18 Floodlit team last season and ended up being the top goalscorer in the league.
“Our U21 team continue in the league on Saturday, with an away fixture at Solihull Sporting – 10.30am kick off.”
