GIRLS
- Our U9s were playing in the Mercian Cup Final last Sunday.
- As you can imagine, the girls were absolutely magnificent. They worked tirelessly and gave absolutely everything. For them to have the opportunity to play in a small stadium in front of hundreds of people was absolutely wonderful and hopefully it’s a memory they treasure for a long time – even if they didn’t take home a winners medal.
- All credit to West Worcester. They are a great bunch of girls with a goof management team behind them. It was an end-to-end game and Bromsgrove had so many chances, with shots that seemed to go just millimetres wide on so many occasions. Ultimately, Worcester won the contest and it’s hard to argue against them deserving it.
- Eleanor Brookes was chosen by the Pershore Town hierarchy as the player of the match from both teams, not just Bromsgrove
- That draws a close to this squad of players’ inaugural season. What a season it’s been. They have all grown as people even more than they have as footballers. To think eight months ago that they would have been able to confidently and sensibly sit down in a changing room the day after losing a cup final and each say a piece on how they felt and how proud they were of each other shows how far they’ve come individually and as a collective.
- The incredible support on Sunday – it was amazing to see and hear.
The tournament below takes place during the last weekend of June…
