SPORTING LADIES: Celebrating Promotion

Our Ladies side are celebrating promotion to the sixth tier of the Women’s Football pyramid – the West Midlands Regional Women’s Football League Division One South.

Sporting Ladies had finished their Midwest Counties Female Football League season unbeaten, winning 13 matches and drawing just the one. A play off programme had been scheduled to see if they would get promoted, but this has been cancelled.

Manager Alan Horton commented: “After four years of hard work, the Ladies have deservedly been promoted to WMRL Division One.

“To come this far in such a short time is something special – to say I’m proud of my ladies is an understatement.

“We’re not a team – we’re a family, and we would like to thank our sponsors and the Bromsgrove community for all your support. We look forward to seeing you all for the exciting new season ahead.

“We are looking to expand our ladies, with some exciting opportunities being announced shortly. We’re looking to build more closely with the community and local teams – it’s a great time to be a Rousler, with the club moving forward, and we can’t wait to get going.

“On a personal note, I’m one proud manager. We have an amazing team, coaches, fanbase and sponsors, that any club would be proud of. The hard work begins now and we’re looking forward to it.

Congratulations to our Ladies side on this richly deserved promotion!
