LADIES
- Sporting Ladies came away with a point from Sunday’s game against Worcester City Devs. The first half saw Worcester lead 2-0, after a slow half by Sporting, with the wind playing its part to make it difficult for the Rouslers to get out their half and create chances. The second half was a totally different half affair – Sporting dominated from the get go, coming close on a number of occasions, only to be denied by multiple saves from the Worcester goalkeeper. Sporting eventually got the goal they searched for when a ball into the box was brilliantly glanced into the far corner by Laura Shanley. After this, it was complete dominance from Sporting, who levelled the game with 25 minutes to go through a bullet of a strike by captain Amy Kendall. There was only going to be one winner if Sporting could find the next goal. The best chance came to Kendall again, but her strike – destined for the top corner – was unbelievably saved by the Worcester goalkeeper. Sporting were very unlucky to not take the victory after a dominant second half, the score finishing 2-2. Players of the Match were Charlotte Wallis & Ellie Pugsley.
- This Sunday sees the return fixture take place at Pershore High School (2:00 KO).

LADIES DEVELOPMENT
- At the weekend, the Devs faced Redditch Borough. From the offset and throughout, Borough gave the Devs a physical and hard fought test, with both teams deadlocked without a goal at half time – credit to Becky for some great saves to keep the game even up until this stage. However, midway through the second half and on the break, Redditch were able to run through on goal and take the lead. Despite the scoreline, Sporting kept their heads held high, responding with physicality and determination, which led to several opportunities, including a free kick which was pushed over the bar by the Redditch keeper. With minutes left on the clock, a well delivered corner by Ellie led to a scramble in the box, from which Abi was able to comfortably slot home into the back of the net. The Devs got a well deserved point at 1-1, which was testament to their hard work and composure throughout. This point meant so much more given they would have been considered the underdogs before the match kicked off and, yet again, they showed how far they have come and progressed as a team since the start of the season. Player of the Match deservedly goes to Abi Bourne, who stopped the opposition’s attacks on multiple occasions and managed to score the goal.

- Bromsgrove Sporting U10 Girls. No game last weekend.
- Bromsgrove Sporting U13 Girls. After a couple of weeks without a game, the U13s finally back, at home against Redditch Eagles. They had a depleted squad, with holidays, injuries and illness taking its toll, so a heavy pitch would prove to be a tough, energy-sapping test for the girls. Additionally, without their regular goalkeeper, they relied on Olivia bravely stepping up and doing a brilliant job. It was a real test of character today, but they played some great football in spells and deservedly took the lead when a corner fell nicely to Josie, who instinctively hit it first time into the top corner. Second half and Sporting continued to play well and dominate, managing to create a number of good chances that led to a number of one one-on-one opportunities. Frustratingly, these chances were saved and Sporting would rue missing these. As the game went on, and without a bench of players to rotate, tiredness took its toll and, late on, Redditch capitalised from a corner to hit an equaliser from close range. Then deep into injury time, from another corner, the ball fell nicely to a Redditch player to smash the winner into the corner. A frustrating end to the game, but hopefully with a full squad, they can come back strongly this weekend, at home to Worcester City.
