GIRLS

  • Bromsgrove Sporting U10 Girls. They had a closely contested match against the newly formed Nunnery Wood U10s. In the first half, the team showcased their determination, keeping the game tight and competitive. However, the second half proved more challenging, as the girls struggled to maintain the same intensity. Despite the difficulty, a few strategic changes helped the team regain their momentum. They finished the match with a renewed strength and a positive attitude, reflecting their resilience and teamwork throughout the game. Their next match is at home to Catshill, in a trophy event.
  • Bromsgrove Sporting U13 Girls. Won 3-1. A familiar stomping ground for several of the girls with a local derby game against Meadow Park Lionesses. Bromsgrove started the game very well, with Immy fouled in the area after five minutes – she calmly slotted the resulting penalty. The game continued with Sporting creating the bulk of the chances, but Meadow Park defended well and it shaped up to be a good tough game. In the second half, a Meadow Park free kick from the edge of the box was excellently struck, flying into the roof of the net for the equaliser. Sporting continued to push to retake the lead and the goal came 10 minutes later, with an excellent run from midfield by Esmee saw her brush her way past the defence and strike a low shot into the bottom corner. Shortly after, Sporting scored again with a free kick of their own from the edge of the box – this one hitting the top right corner for Immy’s second. A good game, played with a real competitive edge and another fantastic away 3-1 win for the Sporting Girls. This weekend, they travel to Redditch Eagles.
  • Bromsgrove Sporting U18 Girls. Lost 4-2. They travelled to Broadway and came away with a very disappointing 4-2 loss. Bromsgrove started the first half a little bit sloppy, giving the ball away far too much and were punished by a deflected shot that found the corner of the net. They then started to play and had a few chances, with Broadway’s goalkeeper making a few good saves and was very quick off his line on numerous occasions to save the day. However, a quickly taken free kick saw Persia beat the keeper to the through ball and slot it home. Hannah made it 2-1 to Bromsgrove shortly after with a well taken goal. The second half saw Bromsgrove continue to press. Ruby had a goal ruled out from Bromsgrove for offside and a breakaway goal for Broadway made it 2-2. Bromsgrove continued to press, with Broadway’s goalkeeper continuing to thwart the attackers. The visitors pressed forward and were fortunate to score the third with a soft shot and their fourth goal was good, but several defenders could have put a tackle in but didn’t. A disappointing day, but the team will do better as this new side gels together.
