Our Athletic Bilbao collaboration certainly didn’t disappoint, with several events and activities on the day making for a brilliant occasion!
Weeks of social media build up, courtesy of photos and poster content, as well as articles and interviews, set up the day perfectly – in which 1,012 were in attendance.
A raffle took place, in which the prizes were a men’s and women’s Athletic shirt – congratulations to winners Richard Boorn (pictured below) and Gareth Metcalf!
Richard is Sporting’s vice president and Gareth is a long-standing fan of the club; Richard picked up his shirt at Tuesday’s game against Harborough and Gareth will collect his at a home game in April.

All proceeds went towards our chosen charity for the season, St Basils Charity, and an incredible £210 was raised! Thanks go to everybody who purchased a ticket!
Elsewhere, we played a range of Basque pop songs at the ground in the lead up to kick off and, as the players walked out, Athletic Bilbao’s ‘Himno del Athletic Bilbao’ anthem played, which is a feature of every game at their San Mamés Stadium.
🎶 @SportingFC, red and white! ❤️🤍@Athletic_en’s anthem was played at Bromsgrove Sporting’s Victoria Ground before their @nonleaguedayuk fixture today! 🤗#UniqueInTheWorld 🦁 pic.twitter.com/7XrrKHEYXn

Athletic’s Dan Parry, who we thank for his amazing help with this collaboration, wrote the following article about the club’s link up with six red-and-white striped clubs for Non League Day.
🤝 Many thanks for your collaboration, @altrinchamfc, @SportingFC, @EveshamUnitedFC, @SheppeyUFC, @SteyningTown & @WittonAlbion
