The following is a Sporting news summary, outlining bits of information that you may find of interest…

NON LEAGUE NETWORKING

  • It was another busy afternoon at the VG on Tuesday, with the monthly Non League Networking lunch bringing in 23 business owners and professionals, including more new faces. Sporting sponsor Bevan Edwards gave tips on how to make networking really beneficial to everybody, the buffet was very well received and the next meeting is Tuesday 7th May.

TOM JONES FESTIVAL

  • The Tom Jones Festival of Sport and Family Fun Day is taking place on July 7th 2024, at the Droitwich Spa Leisure Centre.
  • Tom, who had played football as part of Bromsgrove’s youth set up, tragically lost his life in 2018. Pursuing his dream, Tom secured a place at Worcester University and had just begun his latest adventure when tragedy struck. Tom went missing on September 19th while walking alongside the River Severn. Tom’s body was recovered from the river on September 28th. West Mercia Search and Rescue (WMSAR) played a leading role in the search for Tom and, while the sad outcome was certainly not what anyone had hoped for, the team’s recovery of Tom’s body provided a measure of closure for his grieving family and friends.
