At this weekend’s season finale against Barwell, midfielder Billy Shaw celebrated winning both the Player of the Month and Goal of the Month awards for April.
Billy, who is sponsored for the season by Arrow Cleaning Services Ltd, capped an incredible month by also being chosen as the match sponsor’s Man of the Match on Saturday.
APRIL PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Billy won April Player of the Month with 52% of the vote after a run of consistent performances, which included solid displays against Telford, Alvechurch, and Stratford.
The April Player of the Month award was sponsored by MKM Bromsgrove and the Harry Bennett Foundation.
MKM’s local, experienced specialists have an extensive product knowledge and many years of experience supporting the area with their building and DIY needs.
The Harry Bennett Foundation’s goal is to enable everyone to have access to the life-enhancing benefits provided by sport.
Billy celebrated winning the award with Malc Hawley from MKM and Andy Bennett from the Harry Bennett Foundation, along with club chairman Rod Brown.
Billy commented: “My appreciation goes to everyone that voted for me for Player of the Month. It’s great to finish the season on a high personally and hopefully I can take this last month into next season.
“The results haven’t necessarily gone our way but there have been some good performances from the team. Thank you to the fans that have supported us this month and throughout the season – it’s been much appreciated!”
APRIL GOAL OF THE MONTH
Billy won April’s Goal of the Month with a whopping 74% of the vote. This was for his beautifully curled left-footed strike in our 2-1 win over Stratford Town. He celebrated his award with club chairman Rod Brown.

Billy, who was winning Goal of the Month for the second month running, commented: “I am delighted to win Goal of the Month for the second time in a row – it’s just a shame that they’ve come at the end of the season!
“The goal against Stratford felt like a really important one, considering the pressure on that game and Stratford being in such good form, so I was really happy when I saw it fly in. A big shout out to my mate Aaron Roberts for the assist!”
