At this weekend’s game against Berkhamsted, defender Finn Howell and winger Miro Pais celebrated their awards for Player of the Month and Goal of the Month, respectively.
FEBRUARY PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Finn, who won February Player of the Month with 41% of the vote after a run of consistent performances, which included a Man of the Match showing away at Hitchin Town, celebrated the occasion with his sponsor for the season, Sporting fan Kevin Baggott.
The full back commented: “I was really pleased to be nominated for Player of the Month in my first month at the club and even more so when I found out I won it.
“Since I’ve joined on loan, the manager, staff, players and fans have all helped me settle in quickly. Hopefully, with the fans’ amazing support, we can finish the season strong and keep our run going.”

FEBRUARY GOAL OF THE MONTH
Miro, who won February’s Goal of the Month with 56% of the vote for his well taken effort in our 2-0 win over St Ives Town, marked the occasion with Sporting superfan Marc Pullen, who was representing Miro’s sponsor for the season, Edna-May Parker.
The February Goal of the Month award was sponsored by BHM Energy – their mission is to take care of optimising your utility spend so you can focus on your business. They believe no company is too big or too small for savings on energy bills.
The exciting winger commented: “I am really grateful to receive Goal of the Month. We have been practicing our set pieces in training and everything went to plan – all I had to do was get a clean connection and guide it in. It was a relief to see the ball go in, as it’s been a tough season, with a lot of ups and downs.
“I’ve been working hard behind the scenes to get to my best and so has the team. As much credit as I get, it was a team effort and I couldn’t have done it without them.”

The March Goal of the Month award will be sponsored by GCB Falconry & Pest Solutions Ltd.
Our congratulations go to both Finn and Miro – well done lads!
