Bromsgrove Sporting 1 (Barrow 36', Charles Red Card 90+6')

Bromsgrove Sporting won their second Worcestershire derby of the season on Bank Holiday Monday, as they beat Worcester City by a solitary goal.

The game's goal came 36 minutes in, as Lamin Barrow intercepted a pass from City keeper Mamadou Diallo and slotted the ball into an empty net.

The opening stages were very low on chances - the talking points were yellow cards for Sporting keeper Tony Breeden, after he handled the ball outside the area, and Worcester striker Zac Guinan, for blocking a Breeden free kick from less than 10 yards.

Barrow scored his third goal in as many games when he found himself in the right place at the right time to pounce on Diallo's pass, giving him the easiest of opportunities to net inside the penalty area.

The in-form forward almost doubled his tally for the afternoon in first half stoppage time, but was unable to take the ball around Cheltenham Town-loanee Diallo after initially capitalising on some wayward defending.

Barrow was at it again in the 53rd minute, beating three men at will before putting his shot wide, for which he received a healthy applause from the away following.

Nine minutes later, a curled effort from Guinan skimmed the top of the crossbar before going out.

The 84th minute saw a well worked Worcester throw-in result in Duncan Idehen shooting wide from inside the area.

Moments later, Diallo produced a fine save from an Ollie Harrison header, whilst the first minute of additional time saw substitute Brandon Smalley miss the target after doing well to get himself in on goal.

The afternoon ended on a slightly disappointing note for Sporting, as substitute Jaden Charles was sent off for what was said to be a hair-pulling offence on Miro Pais. However, it wouldn't thwart the Rouslers picking up their fifth win from six matches in August, and their third in a row.
