Stratford Town 2 (Hussey 84' P, Lafferty 90')
Bromsgrove Sporting 3 (Holmes 9', Shaw 51', King 65')
Bromsgrove Sporting made it back to back wins on Saturday afternoon, as they beat Stratford Town at the Arden Garages Stadium.
Goals from Fin Holmes, Billy Shaw and Reece King gave the Rouslers a three goal lead that looked insurmountable until Chris Hussey scored a 84th minute penalty and Dan Lafferty bagged six minutes later. However, Scott Adey-Linforth's men would eventually hold out for an impressive victory.
Holmes dragged an effort wide five minutes in, but he would have his goal four minutes later, as he latched onto a ball into the area, beat a defender and slotted home with ease.
Shaw missed the target with a 21st minute strike, whilst Stratford's Lewis Ison volleyed the ball over from a corner fifteen minutes later.
The Bards had a couple of chances late in the half, as an Ison cross flew into the area and narrowly missed the goal before Tom Solanke had a shot from the edge of the box saved smartly by the feet of Charlie Price, with Jack Storer hitting the rebound over.
Shaw scored in the corresponding fixture last season and, six minutes into the second half, he did the same again, as he struck the ball in from close range after being teed up by Aksum White.
Bromsgrove almost made it three soon after, as a counter attack saw Carter Lycett get himself through on goal - his one-on-one effort was saved by Jake Weaver though.
The 63rd minute saw Stratford's Will Bapaga shoot narrowly wide from inside the area. Two minutes later, Sporting would eventually score their third - endless pressure on the home side's box eventually led to King burying the ball into the net from an inviting position.
In the 68th minute, Holmes had another opportunity to score, but he was unable to pull the trigger after evading the Stratford defenders once again.
Hussey pulled a goal back in the 84th minute, sending a penalty into the bottom corner after Aaron Roberts was adjudged to have committed a foul in the area.
Three minutes later, Sporting substitute Harry Crook had a strike brilliantly saved by Weaver.
Lafferty tapped home from mere yards out in the 90th minute to spark genuine hopes of a Stratford comeback; they would have further chances thereafter, but they all missed the target, and Sporting would go on to record their third away league win of the season.
