St Ives Town 0
Bromsgrove Sporting 2 (Robinson 42', Benbow 83' P)
Bromsgrove Sporting notched up a vital victory in their mission to stay in the Southern League Premier Central, as they won 2-0 at St Ives.
Goals from strikers Theo Robinson and Luke Benbow were enough to extend the Rouslers' lead in the league table over St Ives to four points, with two games remaining.
Billy Shaw and Jack Kelly both has chances early on for Sporting, but neither were able to capitalise on their respective opportunities from decent positions.
The 33rd minute saw former Sporting stopper Ollie Taylor tip over a well struck left-footed shot from Benbow, before Neo Dobson put a fierce effort wide five minutes later.
The opener came in the 42nd minute, as a free kick from inside the Sporting half from Kelly was met by the head of Robinson, with the ball looping over Taylor and into the goal.
Ives skipper Michael Richens had the chance to level proceedings with a free kick on the very edge of the area in first half added time, but it was well blocked by the Sporting wall.
Theo Alexandrou and Reuben Wyatt both had chances for the home side inside the first 15 minutes of the second half, but the shots were off target.
Dobson had two further opportunities well saved by Rory Brown before Benbow bagged a penalty in the 83rd minute - substitute Shay Willock was brought down in the box, with Bromsgrove's top scorer this season duly stepping up and dispatching the ball into the top corner, ensuring that the three points would be going back to Worcestershire.
