Local bragging rights went the way of Bromsgrove Sporting on Saturday afternoon, after beating Redditch United at the Valley Stadium.

Szhem Whyte-Hall gave Redditch the lead but, as has been the case with all of Bromsgrove's wins this season, they came from behind to taste victory, with Billy Shaw and Lamin Barrow both netting to make it three wins from four league matches for the Rouslers thus far.

The opener came after 12 minutes, as a corner into the box was headed into the bottom corner by Whyte-Hall.

Sporting equalised just seven minutes later; a Tony Breeden long ball was headed on by Jake Jervis into the path of Shaw, who found the net with an accurate left footed strike from inside the area.

Chris Hussey and Barrow had opportunities for Sporting late in the half, but neither were able to find the target with their respective efforts.

Sporting took the lead in the 58th minute, via a wonderfully worked team goal. A lofted Kieron Freeman ball to Shaw allowed him to find Barrow inside the six yard box, who wilfully slotted home.

The game was low on clear cut chances after that goal; skipper Hussey put a free kick narrowly wide in the 76th minute, whilst Whyte-Hall missed the target from around 20 yards in additional time.
