Redditch United 1 (Bishop 19')
Bromsgrove Sporting 0

A single goal from former Rousler Aaron Bishop was enough to send Redditch United through to the final of the Worcestershire Senior Cup.

Sporting were unable to find a reply to the 19th minute goal, despite having more of the play in the second half.

Bishop almost got on the scoresheet five minutes in, but his outstretched boot sent the ball over the bar.

Moments later, Danny King hit the crossbar with a header for the home side.

The only goal of the came after Bromsgrove were unable to clear their lines from a corner - the ball fell kindly to Bishop, and he slotted it into the net.

Redditch captain had a brilliant opportunity to double the lead in the 25th minute; he was free inside the penalty area but put his strike over the upright.

Sporting's first meaningful chance of the game came two minutes later, as keeper Rory Brown's punt forward was latched onto by Luke Benbow, who lobbed the ball over Redditch stopper Stan Amos - unfortunately for the Bromsgrove striker, his effort was just wide of the mark.

With six minutes of normal time remaining in the first half, Redditch's Matt Warburton had a free kick from the edge of the area well saved by Brown.

The second half was virtually devoid of any clearcut chances, for either side. The 50th minute saw Bromsgrove's Lewis Green put a shot over the bar following a corner kick, the first chance in a half whereby the visitors were probably the stronger team, but ultimately had nothing to show for it.
