Halesowen Town 0
Bromsgrove Sporting 2 (Meddows 54', Holmes 70')
Bromsgrove Sporting's sensational festive period continued on New Year's Day, as they tasted victory in yet another local derby, this one versus Halesowen Town.
Second half goals from Jamie Meddows and Fin Holmes ensured Scott Adey-Linforth's men would extend their current unbeaten run to five matches.
Former Rousler Conor Tee put a close range header narrowly wide in the second minute, whilst Holmes struck an effort across the face of the goal and just off target seven minutes later.
Another headed opportunity came the way of the Yeltz in the 20th minute, but Ryan Wynter would also miss the goal with his attempt.
The woodwork was hit 25 minutes in, as Meddows found himself in a brilliant position inside the area but could only strike the post.
Bromsgrove's Carter Lycett hit an effort straight at former Sporting keeper Dan Platt in the 34th minute; moments later, up the other end, both Ryan Woollcaott and McKauley Manning had shots blocked away in quick succession.
In first half additional time, Bromsgrove keeper Charlie Price saved a header from the prolific Kieren Donnelly.
The opening goal came nine minutes into the second half - ably assisted by a pinpoint Aksum White pass, Meddows had the space inside the area to beautifully find the bottom corner with a left footed shot.
Three minutes later, Price made a miraculous save to keep out a Donnelly effort from inside the six yard box.
The lead was doubled in the 70th minute, as a Price kick forward was headed by Reece King into the path of Holmes - the lively attacker drove forward before dispatching the ball into the bottom corner of the goal.
Halesowen had chances to score after the second, but neither another former Rousler, Charlie Wragg, nor Manning, were able to make the most of them, as the passionate Sporting faithful backed the Bromsgrove players all the way to the very end.
