Bromsgrove Sporting 1 (Higginson 16')
Royston Town 1 (Ofosu 84')
It was honours even at the Victoria Ground on Saturday afternoon, as Bromsgrove Sporting and Royston Town played out a 1-1 draw.
A Harry Higginson header gave the home side the lead 16 minutes in, with the equaliser coming six minutes from time, courtesy of substitute Claudio Ofosu.
Higginson almost broke the deadlock four minutes in but was unable to head Jak Hickman's cross on target, whilst Josh Castiglione had an effort blocked inside the area soon after.
The opener came just after the quarter hour mark, as a pinpoint Hickman corner was headed home powerfully by Higginson.
Castiglione and Matthew Bateman both had opportunities before half time but were unable to convert them.
Sporting striker Mikey Taylor had a couple of headers fly over the bar from promising positions early in the second half; up the other end, Royston captain Adam Murray rose highest in the area but saw a headed effort cleared off the line.
Chances continued to be shared in the final fifteen minutes, as Will Shorrock had a shot easily saved by Harry Smart, before Bateman hit the post with a right footed drive.
The leveller came in the 84th minute. Ofosu had an initial shot blocked but his second bite of the cherry saw him curl the ball neatly into the bottom corner.
