Bromsgrove Sporting 1 (King 14')
Hitchin Town 1 (Deall 40')
It was honours even between Bromsgrove Sporting and Hitchin Town on Saturday afternoon, as the Rouslers extended their unbeaten run to six matches.
Reece King's opener 14 minutes in was cancelled out by Rio Deall's goal with five minutes of the first half remaining.
Neither side was able to find a winner in the second half, with a point enough to lift Sporting out of the relegation zone.
King and Jamie Meddows had half chances for Bromsgrove in the early stages, whilst the lively Fin Holmes saw a ninth minute strike saved smartly by Sebastian Stacey.
The opener came as King showed tenacity to win the ball in the area before dispatching his strike into the net.
Hitchin enjoyed a good spell of pressure before the equaliser, which came in the 40th minute, as a Deall cross-shot looped over Sporting stopper Charlie Price and into the goal.
The 63rd minute saw the Canaries' Bradley Bell skim an effort narrowly over the bar - 14 minutes later, Sporting substitute Harry Crook struck the ball straight at Stacey from an inviting position.
In truth, it was a scrappy second half, with neither side able to get a proper foothold into the game - Sporting looked as though they would record yet another win after the half hour mark, but Hitchin showed grit to land a valuable point in their own push to stay in the league.
