Bromsgrove Sporting 3 (Trialist 4', 38', King 34')
Birmingham City U21s 2 (No. 10 64', No. 19 66')

A scintillating first half display from Bromsgrove Sporting guided them to their fifth pre-season win from as many games on Tuesday evening, as they beat Birmingham City U21s 3-2.

A Reece King goal was sandwiched between a brace from a Trialist to give the Rouslers a commanding 3-0 lead at the interval. Birmingham added two goals in three second half minutes, but the home side would eventually see out the win to maintain their 100% start to pre-season.

Sporting got the night off to a cracking start, courtesy of the Trialist heading home a Jamie Meddows cross at the back post.

The City goalkeeper had to be alert to save strikes from Sporting's latest addition Meddows, Shay Palmer and the Trialist, but the lead was doubled 34 minutes in, as another pinpoint Meddows cross was headed in by King.

The third goal, scored four minutes later, would once again involve Meddows, with his corner causing all manner of problems before the Trialist knocked it in from close range.

King and Kieran Cook had opportunities to add to the scoreline late in the half, whilst Sporting stopper Charlie Price had to make a good save with a minute of the 45 remaining.

Half time Sporting substitutes Keanu Cooper and Aaron Bishop both had efforts kept out early in the second half. Just after the hour mark, Birmingham brought a virtually whole new team on and these changes very quickly proved fruitful.

Firstly, in the 64th minute, the No. 10 capped off a fine run from inside his own half with a smart strike into the top corner.

Sporting's first goal conceded of the pre-season campaign was quickly followed by the second, as another impressive move forward by the No. 10 allowed him to find the No. 19, who had a simple tap in from a yard out.

Price made a save from a free kick with a little over 15 minutes remaining and Harry Crook had a strike blocked in the 81st minute, with Sporting seeing the final few moments out to win the game in front of a sizable crowd for a fixture at this time of year.
