Mid-Season Friendly - Tuesday 25th February 2020, 8:00 p.m. kick-off

Boldmere St Michaels 0 (0) Bromsgrove Sporting 4 (1) at The Trevor Brown Memorial Ground

Manager Brendan Kelly decided to give his squad a run out in a friendly against former Midland League rivals, Boldmere St Michaels as a cold wind blew across the pitch at The Trevor Brown Memorial Ground followed by icy sleet that made conditions quite unpleasant.

However, Sporting got off to a good start with new signing and Gibraltar international Reece Styche giving his team the lead as early as the 2nd minute with a low 20 yard drive from just outside the box giving 'keeper and one-time Rousler Matt Coton no chance.

The Mikes moved the ball round well and were not overawed by their higher division opponents. However Sporting should have gone in at half-time with a couple more goals after Charlie Dowd went just wide and Coton made a spontaneous stop against Styche.

After the interval Boldmere pretty much changed every player but surprisingly that did not upset their play or rhythm with Pedro Lima having a fine match as a centre-back/sweeper and another former Rousler Dan O'Sullivan creating problem down the right flank.

However the Southern League team's superior technique shone through with a brace from Richard Gregory and a low drive with the final kick of the match from Lewis Chester giving Sporting a comfortable but not overwhelming victory.
