OPPOSITION

  • 2024/25 league position: 2nd (Southern League Premier Central)
  • This season so far: P16 W7 D3 L6. GD +1. They sit 11th.
  • This season – away: P8 W4 D1 L3. GD -1.
  • Last five league matches: W2 D1 L2
  • Last five league matches – away: W2 L3
  • Last league match: Spalding United. Away. 2-0 defeat. Tuesday.
  • The Poppies’ sole away draw in the league this season came in a 1-1 draw at Worcester on 6th September.
  • The Spalding defeat brought an end to a two match winning streak in the league on the road (0-2 wins over Quorn and Banbury).
  • In their last five league games, only league leaders Harborough (2) have conceded less than Kettering’s three. Only Alvechurch (0) and Royston (3) have scored less across this same period though.
  • Unsurprisingly, with seven goals in total (scored & conceded), it’s the lowest number of all teams in league across this five match period.
  • This theme continues in terms of their last five away league matches – there are just two teams (Harborough and Alvechurch) who have seen less goals (scored & conceded).
  • Kettering’s last seven league games have all featured a nil in them (two wins to nil, one 0-0 draw and four losses to nil). The last time this didn’t happen was a 1-1 draw at home to Stamford on 23rd September.
  • Similarly, it’s been their last five away league games where this has been the case – the last time it wasn’t being the aforementioned 1-1 draw vs Worcester.
