COACHES’ CORNER: Tim Flowers Previews AFC Telford United

  • Coaches’ Corner is sponsored by FUSO, Bromsgrove’s only authentic wood-fired pizzeria, built from a love for Italian cuisine and hand-made artisanal pizzas.

Ahead of tomorrow’s league match, at home to AFC Telford United (3:00 KO), manager Tim Flowers has spoken about the home following, the opposition and player preparations…

“I think the supporters that support Bromsgrove will definitely be there in numbers for sure. I think they’ve seen, probably over the course of the season, they’ve got a team that will give everything they’ve got and in terms of the last six or seven games, they’ve seen a team that can normally score a goal.

We have created chances, we try to play on the front foot and get the ball into areas that will hurt opposition defenders.

The bottom line is there will be a fair few in attendance. I would imagine Telford would bring a shed load because they’re flying. I expect Telford to be strong, as they’ve got a very well assembled squad. They’ve got lads there who are well versed at this level and higher and it will be a really tough game.

I expect our lads to recover properly from Saturday’s game – get the right stuff inside them and get the right rest, because it is a quick turnaround, especially for lads at this level who are not full time and have got other jobs. It’s a tough ask for them – there were a few players, on both sides in the game against Coalville, that were absolutely running on empty at the end.

We’re all aware that it will be a tough game, but our job is to try and make it tough for Telford if we can.”
