COACHES’ CORNER: Scott Adey-Linforth reviews Bury Town & Previews Stamford

Ahead of Tuesday night’s league match, at home to Stamford (7:45 KO), manager Scott Adey-Linforth has spoken about the opposition and what lies in store. He starts with reflections on Saturday’s game with Bury Town…

“Firstly, I’d just like to thank you for your excellent support on Saturday. To have over 850 in attendance was simply great for me and the lads.

“I was really disappointed not to take all three points. I felt like we created good chances, but just couldn’t kill Bury off.

“As performances go, the first half was probably some of the best football we’ve played this season and, on a positive, it’s a point on the board to carry into tomorrow’s game against Stamford.

“Stamford are bottom of the league, but I truly believe this really is a false position. Since being in Step Three, Stamford have consistently been in and around the top of the league.

“They have an excellent management team and a talented squad. Make no doubts about it, this will be a difficult game.

“We come into the game in a real positive mindset following our recent run of results – the lads are in a good place physically and are raring to go.

“I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow, under the lights.”
