Ahead of Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup match at Evesham United (3:00 KO), manager Scott Adey-Linforth has looked at the opposition and the importance of the competition. He starts with reflections on Monday’s match…
“Firstly, I’ll begin by apologising again for our performance on Monday. I was extremely disappointed and felt we’d let the club and supporters down.
“We understand the performance was not good enough and we will be doing everything we can to bounce back.
“It’s no secret we’re on a difficult run at the moment, but everyone behind the scenes is pulling together to put it right.
“Football is a difficult game and, in moments like this, it’s important we stick together. On Thursday, we trained really well and feel in good shape going into Saturday, where we begin our FA cup journey – and I cannot wait.Â
“I’ve been fortunate to be a part of special cup runs over the years, so I know how much they mean to a club and the community. I’m proud that this will be my first ever FA Cup game as a manager and I can’t wait.Â
“We travel to Evesham, who are now obviously back at Step Three. They had a terrific year last season and they’ve enjoyed a good start to this season, which means it’s going to be a challenge for us.Â
“Your support at Redditch was fantastic and I hope to see many of you down at Evesham to get behind the lads.”
