Ahead of tonight’s league match, at home to Redditch United (7:45 KO), manager Paul Smith has spoken about the opposition and the nature of the fixture…
“There’s no better game to head into after a defeat than a local derby against your nearest neighbours.
“Redditch, like ourselves, are having a tricky period league results wise but, in these type of derby games, experience tells me form gets thrown out the window.
“As a manager that has been in the game a long time, I try to look at it as just another game. It’s important players play the game and not the occasion. There is three points up for grabs like in any other game.
“That said, local derbies are for the fans, and I appreciate just how much these games mean to them. We will be doing our utmost to put a positive performance in, and if we do, similar to Telford and Hitchin away, or the Spalding game at home, then I feel we will be good enough to get a positive result.”
