Ahead of tomorrow’s Pitching In Southern League Premier Central match, away to Royston Town (3:00 KO), manager Gavin Hurren has previewed the fixture, as well as reflecting on Tuesday’s match and some words of thanks to the fans…
“Reflecting on Rushall, I felt it was a really positive evening in regards to guys who haven’t played much in the last few weeks – it was good to see Spinky (Liam Spink), Shozza (Will Shorrock), Demetri (Brown) and Jake (Bloomer) get a good run out and we’re going to need these guys and the whole squad over the Christmas period, with games coming thick and fast.
“Looking back at the second half, we played some good stuff, and we were probably the better team. It’s just unfortunate we didn’t score whilst we were on top.
“Going into Royston, they are a team who are always up there. A really strong, well organised team – not many teams ever take anything away from playing Royston at their place, so it’s going to be a big task.
“But we’re all up for it. We’ve prepared right, we’re going to be organised and we’re going to give it a good go, so hopefully we’ll have a successful result.
“I just want to thank all the fans again for all the support they’re showing the team and myself, travelling home and away. It was really great to see fans down at St Ives – it meant a lot to the boys.
“Again, to all the traveling fans at Royston and for the fans who can’t be there, we really appreciate the support and we’ll see everybody soon.”
