Bromsgrove Sporting are delighted to announce that club captain Joel Kettle has chosen to remain with Sporting until at least the end of the season, after turning down an offer from local league rivals Stourbridge following a seven-day approach.
The following is a message from Joel…
“I’m delighted to be committing to Bromsgrove Sporting for the remainder of the season. Since walking through the door, I’ve done nothing but enjoy my football at the club. Then to be asked to captain the side added an exciting element and involvement with both the lads and, likewise, the fans.
“It’s a great club, with passionate fans and good people working to improve things both on and off the pitch. After discussions with the gaffer, Birchy (Gary Birch – assistant manager) and the board, it was clear that the club want to head in the right direction, which is obviously an important factor.
“So it’s buzzing to be a part of this club at this time and I’m looking forward to it.
“It’s been a busy few weeks but I’m pleased to get it all wrapped up and continue to concentrate on performing with the lads, to finish the season as strong as we can.
“I want to say a shout out to the gaffer, who’s been brilliant since his appointment, communicating his plans and vision with myself and the team.
“In terms of his involvement personally in the last couple weeks, I cannot fault him, and also Birchy. Their clarity, communication and honesty has been refreshing to see. His efforts and conviction hasn’t gone unnoticed, which is rare to see in non league of recent – class!
“A continued thank you to Mike and the board for their support and involvement. They have been excellent, which makes it an easier decision to accept this opportunity to commit to the club.
“I look forward to seeing the fans who make the trip to Royston on Saturday, or soon back at the VG. UP THE ROUSLERS!”
