OPPOSITION
- Current league position: 18th (of 22 teams)
- League record this season: P11 W2 D3 L6
- League record away this season: P5 D2 L3
- Most recent match: 4-2 defeat at Peterborough Sports (Tuesday)
- Of the league’s current bottom half, only Leiston (17) and Leamington (15) have scored more goals than the Puritans’ 14. However, in terms of goals conceded, only bottom place Stamford (28) have shipped more than their 22.
- With only three teams scoring less away league goals this season, Banbury have yet to pick up a league win on the road – their only away points have come via 0-0 draws at Worcester (22nd Sept) and Bishop’s Stortford (8th August).
- Only three teams have picked up less away points, and they are one of six teams who have yet to chalk up an away league win.
- Their four away goals in the league this season have come in defeats at Peterborough Sports (4-2, mentioned above) and Rushall (3-2, 22nd August).
- League wins this season have come at home to Stamford (3-2, 10th Oct) and Racing Club Warwick (2-1, 11th August). Between those, they went on a seven match winless run in the league (D2 L5). Across all competitions (including an FA Cup replay defeat), they went on an eight match winless run between August and September – ended with a 1-3 FA Trophy win at Peterborough Sports
- That FA Trophy win at Peterborough was the only cup competition they have won in this season, and their only away win this season (the FA Cup seeing them fall at the first hurdle to Step Four Exmouth Town via a replay).
- Despite only scoring in two of their five away league games, scoring at home is no problem for Banbury – as they’ve bagged in all six of their home league games.
- Top league goalscorer, as per footballwebpages.co.uk: Levi Steele (5). He scored in the defeat to Peterborough Sports last time – and is one of four different goalscorers of each of their four away league goals thus far this season.
