Real Bedford 1 (Jones 83′)
Bromsgrove Sporting 1 (Shaw 55′)
Real Bedford’s 100% start to the league season came to an end on Saturday afternoon, as they drew 1-1 with an impressive Bromsgrove Sporting.
Billy Shaw gave the Rouslers the lead before Archie Jones levelled for the Pirates with seven minutes of normal time remaining.
Sporting started the game brightly, with Lamin Barrow missing a good opportunity 15 minutes in before Simeon Maye narrowly missed the target from the edge of the area two minutes later.
Ben Stevens saw a 34th minute strike go just wide for the home side, whilst Bromsgrove’s Hayden Reeves was unable to make the most of a headed opportunity on the stroke of half time.
Sporting broke the deadlock 10 minutes into the second half, as Shaw guided a well timed strike into the bottom corner.
The leveller came 83 minutes in, as the talismanic Josh Allen found substitute Jones, allowing him to knock the ball past Sporting stopper Tony Breeden.
Bromsgrove finished the game brightly, with Ollie Harrison hitting the roof of the net with a header before Josh Dugmore clattered the post with a strike in the second minute of added time.
A good point for Rouslers, but players, staff and fans alike were left leaving the Ledger Stadium thinking it could have been more against the highflying league leaders.
