Bromsgrove Sporting are delighted to announce our latest new addition ahead of the 2026/27 season – experienced goalkeeper Tony Breeden from Hednesford Town!
Tony will be no stranger to Sporting fans, having played between the sticks for the Rouslers at the beginning of our debut campaign at Step Three in 2019. The highlight of his first spell with us was undoubtedly a vital penalty save in our draw at Coalville Town, which saw Bromsgrove come from 2-0 down to gain a valuable point.
Tony, who has tasted promotion in his last three seasons – twice at Hednesford via play-offs and as league champions with Spalding United before that – counts Tamworth, Kidderminster Harriers and, most famously, Leamington, amongst some of his former clubs.
He was a vital member of Hednesford’s 2025/26 promotion winning side; the Pitmen secured Step Two football for next season via a play-off final penalty shootout win over Warrington Rylands whilst, in the semi final, he kept a clean sheet in a 2-0 victory over Stockton Town.
On re-joining Sporting, Tony commented: “If I’m honest, I’m just absolutely buzzing to be back at this brilliant club!
“From the outside looking in, the work going into everything looks amazing, and to be able to be a small part of it going forward is something that really excites me.
“I can’t wait to get going and show everyone that I’m better than my last showing here, which by my own standard was rubbish!
“Look forward to seeing all the amazing fans soon – up the Rouslers!
We hope you will join us in welcoming Tony back to Sporting!
