Victoria Ground Lease Extended

Press Release

New Lease Signed

Bromsgrove Sporting Football Club have agreed a new lease of the Victoria Ground with landlords, Bromsgrove District Council.

The new lease will be for 50 years expiring in 2070 securing the Club’s tenure for another five decades. The old agreement (signed when the Club took over the ground in 2010) had less than 10 years to run and that made it difficult to obtain grants and plan for the future.

Club chairman Mike Burke said “I am grateful to everybody who has worked on this undertaking which has taken over three years to complete. In particular can I thank the officers and councillors at Bromsgrove District Council in particular the members of the Overview & Scrutiny Board who recommended to the Council that our lease be extended. Within the Club one of our current directors spent many hours and several drafts going though the document as did one of our former directors. In addition, we received excellent legal advice from solicitors Wall, James & Chappell.

“It now remains for us to take advantage of this agreement and to start planning for improvements to the ground, its infrastructure and the future of Bromsgrove Sporting “.
