VETS Win 7-0 Away to MELCHESTER

This was Bromsgrove Vets 4th League Game of the Season and the Vets were looking to maintain their unbeaten run away to Melchester Manor.

The game started well enough for Bromsgrove with them having plenty of the Ball but not making any real headway into the Melchester Box. Melchester battled resiliently but after 25 minutes a great ball from Matty Connelly on the right side across the box landed perfectly for Dale Vollrath to Volley Home. Bromsgrove 1-0 up.

Melchester Kicked off and try to push forward for an equaliser but the resilient defence of Bromsgrove kept them at bay. Bromsgrove then pressed Melchester for the last 10 minutes of the first half and with a nice ball across the Box from Ollie Jones, this seasons Leading Goal Scorer Joe Brookes was on hand to make it 2-0 to Bromsgrove at Half Time.

Melchester made a couple of changes at the break but this had little effect as 10 minutes in Ollie Jones made a great run into the box to finish off a lovely move and make it 3-0 Bromsgrove.  Bromsgrove then made 2 Substitutions with 30 minutes to go bringing on Dave Davies for Dave Chrimes at Centre Half and Mark Rollins was off for Jon Hems at Central Midfield.

Hems started well and got hold of the ball several times in the first few minutes of being on the pitch distributing it beautifully out to the wide players which stretched Melchester and put them under immense pressure allowing Ashley Taylor to make a lovely run with the ball into the box before being fouled and the referee giving a Penalty. Hems stepped up to take the penalty slotting it into the bottom left giving the Keeper no chance. Bromsgrove now 4-0 to the good and dominating the game they continued to pressure Melchester into making mistakes when they had the ball this resulting in an attempted clearance out of the Melchester box to be beautifully controlled by Hems with his first touch then drilled into the bottom left corner from 20 yards with a right footed shot to make it 5-0.

Hems then continued to dominate the Midfield distributing the ball beautifully to really stretch Melchester resulting in 2 further goals for Bromsgrove, 1 from Joe Brookes and the other from Ashley Taylor making the final result Bromsgrove 7 Melchester 0. The game was played in a fantastic spirit with some good performances from Matty Connolley, Ashley Taylor, and Ollie Jones but M.O.M. had to go to Jon Hems for his excellent performance in the middle of the park.
