Bromsgrove Sporting are delighted to introduce the next crop of young players who have signed first team forms with the club.
All three players had a successful first season with our U21 Development team and have impressed during pre season training with the first team.
Iain Queen, Director of Football, said: “It is always great to see players developing and being in and around the first team. We had a fantastic first season in the U21 league and all three players played a big part in that success.
“It is a big step moving up from the development league into Step 3 football, and it is key that young players remain patient and keep developing with their coaches at the club. We watch all the U21 games either in person or on the VEO footage and if we feel a player is getting closer to the first team they are firstly introduced into training with Scott Adey-Linforth, before analysing the next best step for each individual player, whether that be to remain with our U21s or dual-register them to allow them to experience the physicalities of menās football elsewhere. This was the case last season when Bo Morris went out to Pershore Town, before coming back and being involved with the first team towards the end of the season.
Like many clubs at our level, we operate with a squad of around 16 to 17 players, so it is important that we have players who can come into the first team set up if needed. Injuries, illness and suspensions will impact our matchday squads throughout the season and therefore it is essential that we utilise our U21 squad when needed. Scott (Adey-Linforth) has proven that he will support youth and if he feels they are ready then they will be given opportunities.ā
Introducing the three new recruits:
George Gillon (Left)
Players player of the season, and also the U21 top goalscorer achieving 15 goals from a centre midfield position. A very technical player with an excellent range of passing and a threat from set pieces.
Fin Carson (Centre)
A versatile player who can operate as a ball playing midfielder, but also is comfortable as a centre half or right back. Calm on the ball and the ability to pick a pass. At only 17 years old Fin is an exciting prospect.
Josh Burgess (Right)
An energetic left back who is likes to get forward and support the attacking play. Comfortable playing anywhere down the left side of the pitch, a player with good delivery, and strong in the tackle.
We hope you will join us in celebrating this news!
