SPORTING LEGENDS GAME: For Prostate Cancer UK

We are delighted to announce that a Bromsgrove Sporting Legends Charity game will be taking place on Saturday 18th May. The players in this game will be completely made up of current and ex-Sporting heroes, in what will be a Bromsgrove Reds vs Bromsgrove Greens fixture.

Despite only being formed in 2009, Bromsgrove Sporting have made great strides through the leagues, and we are proud to celebrate our short history. We will be welcoming back players from our past to celebrate this event and hope you will come along to join us.

All gate receipts from the match will go to Prostate Cancer UK, and we will also have collection buckets on the day should anyone wish to make any further donations. We are delighted to work alongside Prostate Cancer UK to help raise money and awareness.

  • Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men.
  • More than 52,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year on average – that’s 144 men every day.
  • Every 45 minutes one man dies from prostate cancer – that’s more than 12,000 men every year.
  • 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.
  • Around 490,000 men are living with and after prostate cancer.

The player recruitment process is currently in full-flow, and we will be making regular announcements over the coming weeks regarding the featured players. There will then be a full draft where we will confirm who is playing for the Red and the Green teams.

Kick off time will be confirmed in due course and we will also be issuing further details regarding the event in the coming weeks too.

We hope to see you at the VG on the 18th May, for what is sure to be a brilliant celebration of Sporting’s history, whilst raising money for an all important cause!
