REMEMBRANCE: Sporting Pays Its Respects

Sporting will be marking Remembrance in a number of different ways this year – all of which are covered in the article below…

SATURDAY: Our home match versus Leiston

This weekend’s home game against Leiston will be our Remembrance match. People with connections to the armed forces will walk onto the field of play prior to kick off, when a two minute silence will take place, along with a rendition of The Last Post.

We will also inviting players from all of our sides – Ladies, Colts, Girls, U18s and U21s – to join the special commemoration, by standing along the touchline to observe the two minute silence as a mark of respect and remembrance.

The club’s board will be donating £1 to the Royal British Legion for every person in attendance at the game.

Photos and videos of our respects from the day will be put onto our social media channels in the days following.

SUNDAY: Sporting’s involvement in Bromsgrove’s Remembrance.

We will be opening the Sporting Bar on Sunday, and Sporting will also be taking part in the day’s Remembrance commemorations.

A rough schedule of events (based on last years timings) can be found below.
