It is with sadness that Bromsgrove Sporting announce midfielder Reece King has made the decision to leave the club – the following statement explains his reasoning…
To everyone connected with Bromsgrove Sporting,
I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you for everything during my time at the club. I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of this fantastic group and it has been an honour to captain the side.
From the players and coaching staff, to the supporters and volunteers, your passion and commitment make this club truly special.
After a lot of thought, and due to family reasons, I’ve made the very difficult decision to move on. This wasn’t easy, and it certainly doesn’t take away from how much I’ve valued my time here.
I will always look back on my Sporting days with pride and great memories. I wish the club every success for the future, on and off the pitch.
Thank you again for everything.
Kingy
On Reece’s departure, manager Scott Adey-Linforth commented: “Obviously, I’m gutted to lose Kingy – he’s been a great servant to me during my time at this club and has played a big part in my early career as a manager.
“He’s a proper captain and his commitment, desire and personality, both on and off the pitch, will be missed.
“Sometimes, you have to put life into perspective, and family comes before football. I wish him nothing but the best going forward and he will always be welcome back at the UK Electrical Stadium.
“Thanks for everything, skipper.”
The role of captain will now be taken on by Ash Carter, with Billy Shaw stepping up as vice captain.
