PLAYER NEWS: Dowd and Platt depart

We can announce that Charlie Dowd and Daniel Platt have decided to leave Sporting.

Both have expressed they want a new challenge and we wish them all the best and thank them for their efforts with Sporting

Manager Bren Kelly commented: “The lads have been class for me. I brought Charlie through from the Under-18’s and he had a great season at step 4. He played almost 100 games under me and I’m sure that will stand him in good stead for the the future.

“Platty has also said he wanted a new challenge and its likely he will go back to one of his former clubs. I’m bitterly disappointed he is leaving but I wish him well.”
