Bromsgrove Sporting are delighted to announce that creative midfielder Nick Clayton-Phillips has joined us from Redditch United, whilst centre back Ash Carter has been retained for the 2025/26 season!
Nick, who started his career playing in West Bromwich Albion’s youth set-up, has appeared for Kidderminster Harriers’ first team as well as Halesowen Town, Alvechurch and Redditch.
On joining Sporting, NCP commented: “Last season was a very unsettling season for myself, so I knew it was important that I chose the right club for next season. After meeting with the gaffer, hearing his and the club’s ambitions and plans for the future, I knew instantly I wanted to be a part of it.
“Sporting is a massive club, with a great fan base that are always behind the lads, which I think is so important for a club to succeed.
“I’ve been in non league for a while now and I just want to win and compete at the top of table; with the players the gaffer is bringing in, combined with the quality of players that are already here, I know we can do just that.
“I’m buzzing to be here and I can’t wait to get going.”
Manager Scott Adey-Linforth commented: “I’m so pleased to get Nick on board; he’s a fantastic player, who has a lot of potential to get even better. He had a frustrating time of it last year and he’s eager to put that right with us.”
Meanwhile, Ash, who made such a huge impact after joining the club in the autumn of last year, commented: “It will be nice to be back and see some old faces and some new.
“I’m looking forward to pre season, the campaign ahead and working with Scott again.
“I’m hoping for a better season than last and building on how we finished.
“It’s safe to say I’m missing football and I can’t wait to get back to see the people around the club and the fans.”
Ash would also like to thank Luke and Gem Sharkey for their support last season and moving forward.
