Bromsgrove Sporting are delighted to announce the addition of four new players. Experienced centre back Ash Carter and the versatile Carter Lycett join the club from Walsall Wood, right back Josh Ezewele returns to Sporting from Spalding United, and the pacey Demico Burton joins from Coleshill Town.
On our four latest additions, manager Paul Smith comments: “Ash has been, and still is, one of the best and most experienced centre halves in this division. We have been conceding too many goals, and he will help greatly towards making us better defensively.
“Josh has previously played for me for a number of years at Halesowen, so we know each other inside out. He’s another experienced Step Three defender that will help us defend better.
“We have struggled all season so far down our left hand side – Carter and Demico will now give us some natural balance and quality down that side of the pitch.”
Thoughts from the players…
Ash: “It feels good to be here and I’m looking forward to getting going now. The opening training session was a good one with the lads. I feel I’ll bring good leadership qualities and hopefully we’ll go up the table now.”
Carter: “I’m looking forward to it. It’s another challenge for me coming up a league and I’m really looking forward to getting going on Saturday. It’s been good so far, the lads have welcomed me in really well and I’ve had some positive chats with the gaffer.”
Josh: “I’m very excited. There’s a few familiar faces here, I know a few of the lads and obviously I’ve worked with the gaffer before. I can’t wait to get going.”
Demico: “It’s great to be at Sporting. It’s a step up having come from Coleshill and a new challenge for me. I’m looking forward to it and I’m hoping to progress myself here. I’ve gotten on well with the players; I know a few from my time at Stourbridge – Reece King and Charlie Price. The players have introduced me nicely, giving me a warm welcome and it’s only upwards now.”
