Pre-season Friendly - Saturday 10th July 2021, 2:30 p.m. kick-off

Sutton Coldfield Town 0 (0) Bromsgrove Sporting 2 (2) at the Coles Lane Ground

The first pre-season friendly for Sutton on a sunny afternoon at Coles Lane with many new faces in their squad, which resulted in The Royals taking time to settle. The Rouslers though settled quickly into the game, creating the better of the chances and it was Bromsgrove's Player D who gave them the lead, cutting in from the right and firing to the far corner.

Sutton then had a low drive that went across the face of goal followed by a delightful ball into the box for Edwin Ahenkorah who just missed a tap in.

As Sutton were getting into the game more, Luke Ward headed a second for Sporting just before half-time.

The home side started brighter following the interval but the team struggled to break through Bromsgrove’s solid defence and with no further additions to the scoreline, the match finished 2 - 0 to the visitors.

Sporting had a few absences in Josh Quaynor, Nathan Hayward, Will Shorrock, Jack Hallahan and Jack Newell due to injury and or holiday but Liam Spink looked good as did Jack Wilson who was unlucky to have a goal disallowed. Leon Broadhurst played midfield in the first half adding another dimension to Sporting's options. Passing on the ground also looked good though probably helped by playing on Sutton's artificial pitch.

Line-up for Sutton unavailable.
