Match abandoned after 25 minutes due to floodlight failure

Having not kicked a ball in anger for a couple of weeks owing to postponements, player/manager Mike McGrath arranged a friendly up in Willenhall against Northern Premier League Midlands outfit Sporting Khalsa. However the benefit was short-lived as the floodlights failed after 25 minutes and despite the efforts of the ground staff they could not be switched back on and the game had to be abandoned with no goals scored.

Tom Taylor featured in the starting line-up; his first appearance in Bromsgrove colours this season after a succession of injuries. He was partnered by McGrath at centre-back also making a return after time on the treatment table.

For the short timed played, The Rouslers had the better of the play with Conor Tee and Kieron Berry both looking lively up front and putting the home defence under pressure with some useful shots on target. Ben O'Hanlon at left wing-back was also finding space for himself and supplied a few decent crosses.

At the other end, the away defence only had one chance to deal with after conceding a free-kick within inches of the penalty area but the resulting effort ended up going over the bar.

And then the lights went off and that was it for the evening.
