Rugby Town 1 (Mardenborough 67')
Bromsgrove Sporting 2 (Harrison 30', Jervis 49' P)
Bromsgrove Sporting made it three pre-season wins in a row on Saturday afternoon, with victory at Rugby Town.
Ollie Harrison headed the Rouslers into a first half lead before Jake Jervis doubled the advantage from the penalty spot early in the second half.
Rivel Mardenborough pulled one back from the home side midway through the half, but Sporting held out to continue their unbeaten start to pre-season.
Billy Shaw had a couple of early chances for Sporting, including a shot that clattered the crossbar, before Brad Bood hit the side netting from inside the area.
The deadlock was broken after 30 minutes, as a Chris Hussey corner was headed by Jamille Matt into the path of Harrison, who produced his own header to power the ball home.
Further chances came the way of Bromsgrove in the remainder of the half, with Jervis and Dan Trickett-Smith having shots saved, before Shaw, Simeon Maye and Hayden Reeves all had opportunities of their own to add to the scoreline.
The second eventually came four minutes into the second half, as Jervis sent the keeper the wrong way from the penalty spot after Shaw was brought down in the area.
The 67th minute saw Mardenborough lob Tony Breeden from 25 yards to bring the home side back into it - from there, the tempo of the game slowed down somewhat, with few chances for either side.
The best opportunity for Sporting after that goal saw Jaden Charles strike the ball over in the 74th minute after being played in nicely by Jervis.
