Bromsgrove Sporting kickstarted their pre-season campaign with a 5-1 win at Littleton, a team three steps lower than Bren Kelly's men in the Non-League pyramid.

New names Joe Hull, Shaquille McDonald and Kyle Perry were all on the scoresheet, courtesy of headers, whilst the more familiar faces of Richard Gregory and Charlie Dowd also found the back of net with well taken efforts.

Littleton's only goal of the evening was from Luke Rowlands, with the score 3-0 to Sporting at the time.

Sporting notched up the first after a mere two minutes, as a beautifully taken corner from Will Shorrock was met with a strong Hull header, who saw his effort make its way over the line, despite an attempted clearance from a Littleton defender.

Hull had two more headers soon after, with one being cleared and the other smartly saved by the Littleton stopper; however, the second would soon come, via a wonderful team move in the 12th minute.

Another new signing, Robbie Thompson-Brown, played a cracking long ball to Shorrock, who skilfully found Josh Quaynor, which allowed him to put in a short cross into McDonald, who headed in unmarked from close range.

The third came a little over 10 minutes later, as Quaynor bombed up the left wing and poked it into Gregory, who slammed home with venom.

McDonald had a couple of chances to add the fourth but it would be the Ton Boys who bagged it, as Rowlands moved through the Sporting defence relatively unchallenged before shooting past Jono Brown.

Littleton enjoyed some more pressure towards the end of the half but the second 45, which saw Kelly make eight changes, began with Sporting having the vast majority of the play, with John Pykett and Dowd both having opportunities on goal, as well as summer addition, ex-Stourbrige legend Leon Broadhurst, who saw a 20 yard effort deflected onto the post and out for a corner.

However, the fourth and fifth goals would soon come, six minutes apart - the 65th minute saw Pykett find Dowd in the area, who coolly slotted past the Littleton stopper before Perry got himself on the end of a Liam Spink cross and unleashed a diving header from a few yards out 71 minutes in.

Cameron Peters almost made it six for the Rouslers three minutes from time but he could only head an effort from a Dowd cross over the bar.

This clearly was not going to matter though, as the referee blew the final whistle soon after the 90th minute to cap a satisfactory return for Kelly's side.
