Bromsgrove Sporting notched up their second win from as many pre-season games on Saturday, as they recorded a 1-0 win over National League North outfit Kidderminster Harriers at Aggborough.

In a game of few clear cut chances, it was a Joe Hull header six minutes from time that proved the decisive goal, leaving the travelling Rouslers cohort in a jubilant mood come the final whistle.

Sporting definitely dominated the opening stages of the game, with Nathan Hayward having a shot blocked inside the first minute, whilst Richard Gregory had the game's first shot on target 25 minutes in, that being a drive which fell into the grasp of keeper Tom Palmer.

However, the last 10 minutes of the half saw Kidderminster dominate, as Ed Williams had a free kick just outside the area whistle ferociously wide, before both Milan Butterfield and Sam Austin had opportunities of their own, the former having a shot blocked, the latter seeing his shot from an acute angle confidently held by Jono Brown.

The second half, in which Sporting manager Bren Kelly brought on all six of his substitutes before play commenced, saw the home side dominate play, but without any real creditable chances to note - the best of those being a shot from Correy Davidson that was easily saved by Brown.

However, despite Kidderminster's pressure, it was to be Sporting who would bag the winner, as Hayward knocked a sumptuous cross into the box that was wilfully glanced in via the head of Hull, who was scoring his second goal for the Rouslers in as many pre-season games, since his summer move.

Kidderminster substitute Richard Peniket almost scored an equaliser with a minute of play remaining, but was unable to beat Brown in a one-on-one situation, after smartly beating the defence, as Sporting would go on to claim the win in their first ever match against the afternoon's opposition.
