Bromsgrove Sporting 2 (1) Coleshill Town 1 (1) at the Victoria Ground

Sporting's last competitive match was a 1-0 defeat by Coleshill last October in the FA Trophy so although a friendly match, The Rouslers were pleased to carve out a victory against their useful opponents.

Things started well for the home team who took the lead on the 9th minute. Miro Pais passed a short corner to Will Shorrock who floated over a delightful ball into the box that Nehemia Zazi nodded on to Leon Broadhurst who head in the top right hand corner of Paul Hathaway's net.

A few minutes later Coleshill should have had the equaliser when Jack Wilson upended George Washbourne in the Sporting penalty area following a clever free-kick by Josh Willis but the striker hit the resulting spot kick against the post allowing Broadhurst to clear any danger.

However the away team did finally even things up on 37 minutes in somewhat controversial circumstances when Liam Molesworth appeared to push Broadhurst over allowing him a free run at Max Beardmore in the Sporting goal and slotting just under the advancing 'keeper.

Sporting regained the lead just 3 minutes into the second half and again it was Leon Broadhurst powerfully heading home Will Shorrock's corner.

Both sides made a number of substitutes but Sporting had to play the last 15 minutes with 10 men as Joe Cole had to go off following a recurring groin injury.

With just 5 minutes to go, Coleshill had a golden opportunity to get back into match when substitute Joe Phillips intercepted a poor back pass but Ákos Onódi between the Sporting sticks made a brilliant save from a powerful shot.
