As the scoreline suggests, this was a comfortable win for Sporting at the well-appointed and scenic ground just outside the town of Alcester. The home side defended well in the first half but like the sunlight, faded in the second on a very warm, sultry evening more suited for barbeques than football.
Tony Clarke had the first chance for the Rouslers on the 9th minute, hitting the side netting from a corner but 6 minutes later Chrisi Conway opened Sporting's account with a penalty after getting clattered just inside the box. Conway thought he had another on the 25th minute tapping home after a defensive mix up but his effort was disallowed.
Danny Ludlow playing out wide on the left had a good half coming close on three occasions but failing to get one over the line.
Clarke found the net on 59 minutes side-footing home after a good build up then Sean Brain made it three with a drive after Aaron Roberts made a precise cross to Keenan Meakin-Richards who pulled back to the unmarked striker.
Brain got the fourth from the spot then Robbie Bunn hit the post from close range but moments later scored the best goal of the evening when he volleyed in from Roberts' cross.
Meakin-Richards got the final and sixth goal with a well-taken free-kick from just outside the box with eight minutes to go.
A useful session for Sporting with the squad now shaping up well. However tougher tests await them before the season start with a match against Sporting Khalsa at Noose Lane next on the agenda on Saturday.
