OPPOSITION

  • 2024/25 league position: 1st (Northern Premier League – Midlands Division. Promoted to Step Three, winning the league with 103 points)
  • This season so far: P18 W8 D4 L6. GD +7. They sit 7th.
  • This season – away: P9 W5 D2 L2
  • Last five league matches: D2 L3
  • Last five league matches – away: W2 D2 L1
  • Last league match: Real Bedford. Away. 1-1 draw. Saturday.
  • Quorn are the league’s second highest scorers, with 33 goals (only Spalding have more with 43). However, only Banbury (28) have conceded more than their 26 in the league’s current top half.
  • Only the league’s top two sides (Spalding and Harborough) have picked up more points on their travels this year.
  • Expect goals when Quorn hit the road – only Spalding (26) have scored more than their 20 and only Spalding’s away games have seen more total goals (43, Quorn with 34 – note that Spalding have played three more away games than Quorn).
  • In their last five league matches, Quorn have only picked up two points – only Alvechurch (0) have picked up less points in this same period. Meanwhile, only Kettering and Alvechurch have scored less than their four in this period.
  • With no win in five matches, only Alvechurch and Stourbridge are on longer league runs without a win at present. This is the worst current record of all the teams in the league’s top half.
  • Their last victory was a 3-4 win at Bishop’s Stortford on 1st November. It is worth nothing that in this winless five match run, the Methodists have played the likes of Real Bedford, Harborough and Spalding – three of the league’s top four – and drew two of these matches.
  • Despite their good away record this season, they are winless in three away league matches (Real Bedford 1-1, Banbury 3-2 and Spalding 1-1). Their last away win was the aforementioned Bishop’s Stortford victory. Those two 1-1 draws have been their only two away draws of the season, meaning they went six away games beforehand with no draw (W5 L1).
  • Their only two away league losses have been against Banbury (15th November, mentioned previously) and a 1-0 defeat to Harborough (9th September).
  • With 23 total goals in their last five away league matches (12 scored & 11 conceded), this is the most of any team across the same metric.
  • They’ve conceded in their last seven league matches – their last clean sheet being in a 2-0 win over Bury Town on 18th October.
  • They’ve scored in their last five away league matches, but conceded in their last seven. The last time they didn’t score on the road was on, vs Harborough (1-0). The last time they kept an away clean sheet was on their second away game of the season, vs Sudbury, on 23rd August (0-4). Incidentally, their only other away clean sheet in the league came on the opening day of the season, with a 0-1 win at Worcester (9th August).
  • Despite currently being on a five match winless run, they have enjoyed good league runs this season too, including unbeaten spells of four matches (August, W3 D1) and six matches (Sept/Oct/Nov, W4 D2), plus they won their first three away matches of the season.
  • Top goalscorer this season: Zak Goodson (11 goals, 8 in the league – as per www.footballwebpages.co.uk)
