COMMUNITY NEWS: Sporting Students Help Out

It was fantastic to see some of our Football Education College players out in the community last weekend – with students going along to Belbroughton Primary School to help support their Summer Fair, setting up small-sided games and penalty shoot outs for the children.

Iain Queen, Football Operations Manager, commented: “It is important that we continue to grow and build our engagement with the local community. Bromsgrove is rapidly growing as a town, and we want to reach out and engage with as many people as possible.

“A big thank you to our pathway players for committing the time to support this event. Our Football Education Pathway has been a big success this year and considering it has been our first year delivering the programme we have made massive strides.

“There are still opportunities for anyone who might be interested in balancing their studies with developing their football skills

“What makes our programme different to others is that students are not limited to having to do a sports course in order to play football alongside their studies.

“We offer a range of academic pathways which enables students to study courses which they are passionate about, whilst also developing their skills with former professional footballer and UEFA B qualified coach – Jordan Lyden.”

If you are a current Year 11 leaver and interested in being a part of our Football Education programme at Colmers School & Sixth Form College, then please contact us at iain@bromsgrovesporting.co.uk
